Social media takes a lot of time! I can barely keep up with my LinkedIn, Twitter, Facebook, my own blog, not to mention the 12+ RSS feeds I subscribe to in my reader program. Have you read the international best seller called "The World Without Us"? It's about what would happen to planet earth if, for some reason, humans disappeared. Great read. I now wonder if that same author should write a follow-up: "The World Without Internet, Cell Phones and Other Wirelesws Handheld Devices". Submitting your link to Social Media sites, increases your presence on the web, which gives more credibility to your website when google searches for you and ranks you. 2. When you submit bookmarks you should have "tags" attached to them, so if someone were to search delicious for say...all things tagged with "health", you may be in this category, thus someone may see your site in a search and then go to your website. That increases web traffic which in turn, bumps your rank. To be as simple as possible, social media is about engaging with others.
